Welcome to the Biochemistry Olympiad. Bioscience is now an emerging frontier. This encompasses from food to human life. Without nurturing bioscience our knowledge base cannot get a strong foothold. Students should be attracted more in the sphere of bioscience.
Graduate Biochemists Association (GBA) was formed in 1995. The initiative of formation of Graduate Biochemists Association (GBA) was taken by a group of young and energetic graduates of Biochemistry, DU. The Association was mainly formed to foster fellowship and collaboration among the biochemists, molecular biochemists and the biochemists of related fields of Bangladesh and those of other countries and to share the benefits of research and other experiences obtained thereby. Another objective was to promote and safeguard the professional interests of biochemists and molecular biologists.
We feel proud that the members of this association are playing key roles in advancing biological science education, conducting world-class research, ensuring quality of pharmaceuticals & food industries, simplifying disease diagnosis and as able administrators both home & abroad.
The Graduate Biochemists Association (GBA) website that started its journey ten years ago has resurfaced again with a brand new outlook. It has been planned as such that the formal launching of the new GBA website shall coincide with the upcoming AGM of GBA which will be held on May 21, 2010. Let us build this website together. This website will be a forum for Graduate Biochemists from home and abroad. It will allow them to weave dreams and share them with fellow Biochemists. Graduates will be able to keep each other informed about their achievements. They will inspire each other. Let our slogan be, "We will be good Biochemists and good human beings". Wherever we are, our foremost thinking would be our country and our toiling masses. The goal of the GBA shall be to spread the knowledge of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and make available the fruits of this frontier science to the common people of Bangladesh.
I take this opportunity to recall the late Professor Kamaluddin Ahmad the father of Biochemistry in Bangladesh and also his worthy student and successor the late Professor Harun K M Yusuf whose contributions will be remembered forever. United we march towards our cherished Golden Bengal and a peaceful prosperous world.
